The game from RageSquid and No More Robots has exited Early Access on Xbox Series, Xbox One, and PC.

Descenders Next launches with snowboarding and mountainboarding at its core, aiming to be the only extreme sports game you’ll ever need as it gradually expands with more and more adrenaline-fueled activities. Building on the success of Descenders—which has drawn in 35 million players since its launch seven years ago—Descenders Next is the natural evolution of the original’s formula. The developers asked themselves: where do we go after Descenders? How do we keep the same exhilarating speed and feel, while moving beyond just mountain biking? That’s how the idea of perfecting the fluidity of a variety of sports was born.

In Descenders Next, players master snowy peaks with tight, responsive snowboarding before tackling the rougher terrain of the highlands with mountainboarding. Every sport feels and handles differently, meaning players must adapt and master every nook and cranny of Next. Even in early access, Descenders Next had as much content as the original—full online multiplayer action, tons of tricks and grinds, and multiple huge biomes to explore. Players earn reputation as they climb, using it to unlock new boards, outfits, helmets, goggles, and more to customize their rider.

Previously, Descenders featured procedurally generated tracks and handcrafted parks. In Descenders Next, the team has merged both into a more organic experience, with players tackling off-piste mountains that flow into tight, winding parks and scenic vistas. The parks provide fresh, new challenges and serve as Next’s ever-expanding playgrounds. Sometimes you’ll be racing friends down the slopes as fast as possible; other times, you’ll be focusing on pulling off the perfect trick or landing. Scavenger hunts encourage players to explore every inch of the mountain, rewarding those who dig deepest with special unlocks. All this is backed by a banging Monstercat soundtrack, giving you even more reasons to chill on the slopes while vibing to the latest drum and bass tracks.

Descenders Next has now left Early Access (after being available since April 9) on Xbox Series, PC, and Xbox One. The price is €29/$30.
