One of the year’s most promising soulslike games is now fighting to overcome technical issues that marred its debut. Wuchang: Fallen Feathers impressed as an action RPG, but launch bugs and poor performance have sparked a wave of criticism.
A sleeping giant has stirred. China has proven its gaming power with Black Myth: Wukong, but the next contender is Wuchang: Fallen Feathers from Leenzee Games. With its strong gameplay and stylish art, the game shot up Steam’s sales charts on launch.
But while the debut was explosive, performance complaints quickly overshadowed the initial excitement. Leenzee Games and 505 Games released a joint statement admitting that these “issues should never have happened” and apologizing for the “negative experience” suffered by some players.
Despite this, the game managed to hit #1 on Steam’s global sales, and boasted over 130,000 concurrent players (SteamDB). Currently, reviews on Steam are “Mostly Negative” (only 30% positive), most citing technical faults. Leenzee Games has promised more updates to fix these issues.
The upcoming patches aren’t just about performance: the developers are also correcting preorder bonus distribution and regional pricing problems. Those who already bought the game will see improvements thanks to Patch 1.3 on PC, which brought notable optimizations.
Wuchang: Fallen Feathers – Technical Fixes & Future Updates
According to Wccftech, the update introduces a manual low-latency mode, tweaks supersampling resolution, and optimizes VRAM usage for GPUs below 8GB and above 16GB. The goal is better stability, fewer crashes and stutters, plus a few small tweaks in Chapter 2. A major update is already planned for Wuchang: Fallen Feathers.
