Project Hadar: CDPR’s New Game Gets Details Via a Job Listing!

The Polish team revealed new information about one of CD Projekt RED’s (CDPR) future projects in a job advertisement.

The studio is looking for a senior game designer with at least five years of experience in melee-oriented RPG/action games to work on its new IP, Project Hadar. This suggests that the game will focus on melee combat. The other requirements do not reveal anything new about the game, such as the need for experience with Unreal Engine 4 and 5. The studio previously announced that it would use Epic Games’ technology instead of its own REDengine. The REDengine was last used by the Polish team in Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty.

Project Hadar is just one of several projects currently in development at CDPR. Others include the sequel to Cyberpunk 2077, codenamed Project Orion and mainly developed by CDPR’s Boston studio, and The Witcher IV, unveiled by the Polish team at The Game Awards. Ciri will be the main character instead of Geralt of Rivia. It is now official that CDPR is developing the game with consoles in mind and will take full advantage of the generational shift that has taken place since The Witcher 3. It’s unclear how this will be achieved, but if the tech demo presented in the summer is any indication, CDPR will surpass all of its previous games.

Regarding Project Hadar, it’s reasonable to assume that it will be a next-gen title. The Poles don’t want to rush the sequels to Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher IV, so it will probably take some time before Project Hadar enters full development. By then, CDPR’s project may target the PlayStation 6 and the next-gen Xbox. However, we would like to add that this is only speculation from us.

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
