Fed up with the issues plaguing the latest action RPG, players have turned their attention to Wuchang: Fallen Feathers. The community wasted no time, rolling out mods to boost performance, kill stuttering, and patch up lingering problems.
Once tipped as one of 2025’s hottest action RPGs, Wuchang: Fallen Feathers hasn’t exactly soared out of the gate. Sure, the game has racked up impressive concurrent player numbers on Steam, but hundreds have posted negative reviews over performance woes and technical hiccups ruining the fun—a headache Leenzee Games says it’s working to solve with post-launch patches. But with patience running thin, fans have already started releasing their own mods to whip the game into shape.
As The Gamer first reported, Nexus Mods is already hosting early tweaks aimed at smoothing out performance, eliminating stutter, and fixing other bugs in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers. There aren’t a ton of mods yet, but credit to the community for getting these out just four days after launch (the RPG hit shelves July 24).
The biggest hit so far comes from P40L0X, whose mod improves overall performance, slashes stuttering, lowers latency, and irons out other quirks. At last count, the add-on had been downloaded by over 23,000 players, a testament to just how many fans are now enjoying the RPG thanks to community-driven fixes.
Wuchang Troubles: Fallen Feathers “should never have happened”
Meanwhile, Leenzee is still pushing out official patches for Wuchang: Fallen Feathers. The team recently admitted all these problems “should never have happened” and has dropped an update adding a manual low-latency mode, tweaking supersampling resolution, and optimizing VRAM for both sub-8GB and 16GB+ GPUs. That’s stabilized the game and cut back on crashes and stuttering, but the devs are clear: there’s more work ahead.
