MOVIE NEWS – 87 years, more than 100 films, and 2 Oscars: one of Hollywood’s greatest actors is set to join forces with another all-time legend for an exciting new film. Knighted by Queen Elizabeth II for his services to the arts, Anthony Hopkins will star with Al Pacino in a biopic about a family of entrepreneurs, scheduled for release in 2025.
The year 2025 will mark an impressive 65 years since Anthony Hopkins first appeared on screen. His debut came in a television series back in 1960, when the veteran actor was just starting out. Since then, the British actor, knighted by Queen Elizabeth II for his artistic achievements, has starred in over 100 films alongside many television and theater roles. Hopkins has been awarded two Oscars: for *The Silence of the Lambs* (1991) and *The Father* (2020).
At age 87, Anthony Hopkins remains as active as ever. His most recent film, *Blinded*, debuted in theaters this May, where he shared the screen with Bill Skarsgård. In 2024, he starred in Roland Emmerich’s highly anticipated series *Those About To Die*. Looking ahead, his schedule is packed with new projects—most notably *Maserati: The Brothers*, a biopic directed by Robert Moresco, in which he shares the screen with none other than Al Pacino.
In addition to these two icons, the cast also features Michele Morrone, Salvatore Esposito, Lorenzo de Moor, Andy Garcia, and Jessica Alba. Though production has wrapped, Deadline reports that the premiere is set for this fall. The film tells the story of the legendary Italian Maserati family, founders of the prestigious luxury car brand. Eight brothers, each to varying degrees, played a part in creating and developing one of the world’s most luxurious automotive companies.
Interestingly, Hopkins won’t play one of the brothers, but rather Luca Antonelli, an influential financier for the Maserati family.
