How many versions of Virtua Fighter 5 exist at this point? Yes, that’s a real answer—absurd as it sounds, it’s the new normal for 2025. Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. World Stage is headed to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC—where, good news, PC players get it as a completely free automatic update. On consoles, though, the Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio and SEGA title will cost $20. If you own Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown on PS4, you can upgrade to the PlayStation 5 version of R.E.V.O. World Stage with all DLC for only $10.
There’s also a 30th Anniversary Edition at $49.49, offering a massive content bundle: the Legendary Pack DLC, Yakuza Series Pack DLC, a 30th Anniversary Swimsuit Costume Set (for every fighter), Virtua Fighter pre-production secret materials, a 30th Anniversary Music Selection, and special 30th Anniversary Ranking Titles. It’s the ultimate collection for superfans—plus, pre-orders come with a SEGA Genesis Customization Item for a retro flair.
The new World Stage mode is the big innovation here, letting you take on tournaments across the globe in single-player and face off against legendary real-life players as CPU-controlled opponents. For longtime fans, the mysterious final boss Dural returns as paid DLC—she’s now playable for the first time in ages, though not eligible in official tournaments.
Cross-play lets you square off against rivals across all platforms, while rollback netcode ensures the smoothest online matches yet—perfect for intense battles with players worldwide. Virtua Fighter 5: R.E.V.O. World Stage drops October 30 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC, with a closed beta launching in early September. The Nintendo Switch 2 will get the game at a later date. The real question is: will this finally be the last Virtua Fighter 5 update? Only time will tell!
