Xbox Game Pass Loses Sea of Stars and Four More Games in August

One of the most acclaimed JRPGs of recent years is leaving Xbox Game Pass. Microsoft has confirmed that Sea of Stars will be removed from the subscription service along with four other titles. While the list of new arrivals for the second half of August is still under wraps, the company has already revealed which games are on their way out.

Like most subscription services inside and outside the gaming industry, Xbox Game Pass constantly refreshes its library by adding new releases and removing older ones. Earlier this month, Microsoft confirmed the addition of eight titles during the first days of August. While the lineup for the second half remains unknown, five departures have already been announced — and among them is the fan-favorite Sea of Stars.

The information comes directly from the official Xbox website, specifically in the Game Pass section. No exact date was provided for the removals, but historically Microsoft tends to take games off the service on the 15th and 30th/31st of each month. That makes August 31 the most likely date for these five titles to disappear, though official confirmation is still pending.

Meanwhile, subscribers can already enjoy the eight new titles that landed on Game Pass in early August. Covering adventure, strategy, sports, and more, the lineup is headlined by Assassin’s Creed Mirage, available on console, PC, and the cloud. The second batch of August arrivals will be announced in the coming days.
