Lego Batman: The Dark Knight’s Next Big Adventure Is a Lego Love Letter to Gotham! [VIDEO]

TT Games and Warner Bros. Games have unveiled a brand-new open-world action-adventure Lego Batman game, featuring intense combat, iconic gadgets, and plenty of fan-service for longtime Dark Knight devotees.

TT Games and Warner Bros. Games have officially announced Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, set to release in 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PC, and the new Nintendo Switch 2. The game puts players in the cowl of Bruce Wayne as he transforms into Gotham’s legendary vigilante in a sprawling Lego open world.

The title is inspired by decades of Batman movies, comics, animated shows, and video games, wrapped in the signature TT Games Lego charm and humor. The story begins with a young Bruce Wayne training with the League of Shadows, and expands into a fully voiced narrative campaign where players assemble a Bat-family that includes Jim Gordon, Robin, Nightwing, Batgirl, Catwoman, and Talia al Ghul to battle an ever-growing threat from iconic DC villains.

New Combat, Higher Difficulty, Same Lego Fun

TT Games has revamped the traditional Lego combat system with a dynamic new mechanic that mirrors Batman’s unique fighting style. Expect slick combos, hard-hitting counterattacks, and dramatic takedowns. You’ll wield classic Bat-gadgets like the Batarang and Batclaw, while each companion character has their own specialized tool: Gordon’s foam sprayer, Robin’s line launcher, and Catwoman’s whip all offer fresh tactical options in battle.

In addition to a solo campaign, players can dive into a two-player local co-op mode. And for those craving a tougher challenge, Legacy of the Dark Knight introduces two new difficulty tiers: the Caped Crusader mode and the brutal Dark Knight setting that promises to push even veteran players to their limits.

Set in an expansive Lego Gotham City, players can solve puzzles, thwart crimes, uncover hidden secrets, and earn rewards scattered across rooftops, alleys, and shadowy corners. You can grapple, glide, and drive through the city using gadgets like the grapple launcher, the Batglider, or various Batmobiles and Batcycles. The Batcave is also fully customizable, featuring unlockable vehicles, trophies, collectibles, and even a closet of legendary Batsuits from Batman’s rich history.

“We at TT Games are thrilled to unveil Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, a new game that celebrates all things Batman,” wrote Jonathan Smith, strategic director and head of development at TT Games. “Our new crime-fighting combat features are amazingly fun and take LEGO gameplay to a whole new level.”

“This game brings together nearly every facet of his legacy, letting you experience the full range of what makes Batman iconic,” added Jim Lee, president, publisher, and chief creative officer at DC. “This is a Batman game that fans will instantly connect with.” Fredrik Loving, senior VP and global head of gaming at Lego Group, concluded: “Our partners at Warner Bros. Games, TT Games, and DC have created an experience that delivers the style, intensity, and authenticity of Gotham City’s greatest hero, infused with the family-friendly fun of the Lego brand.”
