TaleWorlds is planning an add-on for the second installment of Mount & Blade and will also release a major free update for the game.
The War Sails expansion marks a significant shift in Calradian warfare by introducing naval battles for the first time. The Viking-inspired Nordic faction brings its legendary seafarers and fierce close-quarters combatants to the forefront, ready to invade new coastal territories included in the expansion. Players can command entire fleets, engage enemy vessels, board enemy ships, and enforce blockades, adding new strategic dimensions to combat across land and sea.
Chart a course to the Northern Kingdom, home of the fearless Nords. Trade, recruit, or fight in a land of jagged peaks and icy fjords. Will you join the North or take their riches? War Sails brings naval warfare inspired by medieval battles. Master the physics of wind and water, board or ram ships, and cripple your enemies by shattering their oars, sinking their hulls, or tearing their sails. Calradia has expanded to include a northern sea, islands, rivers, and open waters. Sail past barriers, resupply, and battle enemies on land and sea. Choose from 18 ships, each with unique handling characteristics shaped by wind and waves. Upgrade your ships with siege engines, sails, and rams. Acquire vessels, upgrade ports, or capture ships and figureheads.
Sail the rivers and seas to strike deep into enemy territory. Keep your armies supplied, sink your enemies, and blockade towns. But beware—storms and attrition can undo even the best-laid plans. Gather new companions, Nordic banners, hairstyles, tattoos, and armor. Develop your naval skills, craft unique weapons, and wield new spears, swords, and axes to rule the land and seas. The naval systems and Nord faction integrate into the world of Bannerlord, reshaping trade, warfare, and diplomacy.
Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord: War Sails and the major 1.30 update will be released this fall for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
