Tiny Tina fans can start getting excited again: Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford has hinted in an interview that the studio may be gearing up for a sequel to the Borderlands spin-off. Even though the game launched to mixed reception and peaked at just 15,021 players on Steam, another chapter in Tiny Tina’s chaotic saga could serve as the perfect bridge between Borderlands 4 and whatever comes after.

The original title, released in 2022, quickly earned cult status with its wild mix of humor, action, and loot-driven gameplay. That success motivated Gearbox to consider more adventures in the same universe. Rumors of cancellation swirled in 2024, but sources close to 2K Games shut them down, reinforcing the belief that Tiny Tina’s journey still has plenty of ground left to cover.

A Sequel to Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands Is on the Table

In this context, Pitchford told All Out Gaming that “we’ve just gotten started on this IP”, hinting that a sequel is already in the works. He added that a dedicated team of fantasy enthusiasts is tasked with carrying Tiny Tina’s story forward. Gearbox, according to him, views Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands as a springboard—or, as he called it, a “beachhead”—for a line of fantasy-meets-looter adventures, with expansions and sequels potentially on the horizon.

Pitchford also revealed a few details about the villain of Borderlands 4, the Timekeeper, while hinting that the next Wonderlands antagonist will take a much darker turn: a deadly serious foe, worlds apart from the charisma and snark of Handsome Jack. This change promises a more intense and less comedic experience for players.

Although there’s still no release date or concrete details, Pitchford’s remarks have already sparked excitement among fans. The community is eager to see Gearbox’s next moves, hoping for a new adventure that further expands the world of Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands.
