Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. World Stage: Closed Cross-Play Beta in September

Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio and SEGA want to ensure that the latest version of Virtua Fighter 5 runs smoothly with cross-platform fighting before release.

The closed cross-play beta for Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. World Stage will begin on September 10 at 8 PM Pacific and run until September 15 at 8 PM Pacific. The test will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC (Steam). As this is a closed beta, registration is required via the official website: link.

The full release of Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. World Stage is coming soon to PS5, Xbox Series, and PC. On PC, it will be free as an automatic update. On consoles, the price is set at $20. PlayStation 4 owners of Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown can upgrade to the PS5 version, including all DLC, for $10.

A 30th Anniversary Edition will be available for $49.49, including the Legendary Pack DLC, the Yakuza Series Pack DLC, the 30th Anniversary Swimsuit Costume Set (for all characters), Virtua Fighter pre-production materials, a 30th anniversary music selection, and ranking titles. Pre-orders will also receive the SEGA Genesis Customization Item, inspired by SEGA hardware.

New World Stage Mode and Playable Dural

The biggest addition is the World Stage mode, where players can compete in single-player tournaments set across the globe, facing CPU opponents modeled after legendary real-world players. Dural, the mysterious final boss, will also be playable through paid DLC (though not usable in official tournaments).

With cross-play, players from any platform can face off, and rollback netcode ensures the smoothest online matches yet, bringing intense battles against opponents worldwide.

Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. World Stage launches October 30 on PS5, Xbox Series, and PC. The game is also planned for Nintendo Switch 2 at a later date.
