Shift Up moved quickly: after the first game’s success, the South Korean studio confirmed a sequel with an expanded world and enhanced gameplay.
In its latest financial report, Shift Up confirmed it is actively developing the follow-up to the hit action RPG, which launched on PlayStation 5 last April and on PC this June. While details remain under wraps, the studio says the second entry will retain the original’s action-forward identity while broadening the universe and upgrading core systems. Alongside the sequel, Shift Up is also planning additional works tied to the Stellar Blade IP to expand the franchise.
Given the game’s performance on PS5 and PC, the continuation is no surprise. On Steam, it sold one million copies in just three days despite Denuvo DRM, making it the fastest-selling Korean game on the platform to date. Hopefully, future releases will reach more platforms as well.

“We are actively pursuing the franchise development of the ‘Stellar Blade’ IP and are currently developing a sequel to ‘Stellar Blade.’ This sequel will inherit the original’s action-packed nature while incorporating an expanded worldview and enhanced gameplay, further solidifying its position as a franchise IP. We anticipate it will be even more successful than the original,” Shift Up wrote.
Stellar Blade is currently available on PS5 and PC. It remains to be seen whether Shift Up will port the game to Xbox Series and Nintendo Switch 2; the sequel will likely debut first on Sony’s console again.
