Knights of the Fall: How Is Interdimensional Travel Connected to the Afterlife? [VIDEO]

Airo Games’ new game, Knights of the Fall, is currently only available for PC, but Bohemia Interactive may release it for consoles in the future.

Knights of the Fall is a sci-fi, 2D/3D hybrid platformer. The game tells the story of Haru, a combat veteran, and Yoshida, his scientist companion. Together, they use time- and gravity-bending technology to uncover the connection between interdimensional travel and the afterlife. In 1947, the secret agency NASS was founded to decode mysterious cosmic signals, which sparked Japan’s rapid technological growth. However, in 1986, the ignition of a zero-point energy reactor tore open a gateway to another dimension, drawing alien life to Earth and thrusting the planet into a desperate struggle for survival. Among the survivors, Haru joins forces with Yoshida, a former NASS scientist, and together they navigate a world forever changed, hoping to save both Earth and those trapped in singularity anomalies.

Harness the singularity reactor to bend gravity and warp time itself. Use these abilities tactically to manipulate the battlefield, disabling enemies with brutal precision and dispatching them in creative, satisfying ways. In a post-apocalyptic world where weapons are scarce, survival depends on improvisation. Turn enemy strengths into weaknesses, redirect their attacks, lure them into deadly crossfire, and seize every opportunity. Confront a wide array of foes, each with distinct AI behaviors, combat patterns, and exploitable weaknesses. Face bosses who mirror your abilities. Outsmart them, turn their power against them, and manipulate the battlefield’s chaos by using lesser enemies as weapons.

Explore a hand-painted, post-apocalyptic world brought to life with a cinematic 2D/3D hybrid art style. Journey through ruined cities, flooded hospitals, underground NASS labs, and distorted anomalies where past and future collide. Each stage presents new traversal challenges and hidden lore. Discover the overlapping stories of survivors and those trapped in singularity anomalies. Guide Haru through a journey to reveal the hidden truth, piecing it together from scattered diaries, lost recordings, and fragmented memories. A carefully composed cinematic score enriches the atmosphere, heightening the emotional impact of every encounter and revelation.

Knights of the Fall is currently in development for PC only, with no release date announced.
