If the new rumors are to be believed, the schedule revealed in the 2023 ransomware attack will not be feasible for the studio…
Speculation around Marvel’s Wolverine continues to intensify. Earlier this September, Tom Henderson from Insider Gaming reported that State of Play might showcase the first gameplay this month. Henderson also noted that internal testers received the game extremely well and that the trailer is nearly finished. However, it might not debut at State of Play but instead at The Game Awards in December.
According to anonymous sources cited by MP1st, Marvel’s Wolverine is currently on track for a 2026 release. While no fresh details were shared about the Canadian mutant’s debut, new information surfaced regarding Insomniac’s other project, Venom. MP1st reports that development is moving forward smoothly. Like Wolverine, Venom was part of the Insomniac leak, raising concerns that the project might have been paused or canceled. This time, however, Eddie Brock will serve as the host for the symbiote. In Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, both Peter Parker and Harry Osborn played that role, but Brock will be portrayed closer to his comic book version compared to the Venom film trilogy, where Tom Hardy played him.
Carnage is also set to appear in Insomniac’s Venom game. Fans may recall his presence in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, when Cletus Kasady, leader of the Crimson Hour cult, said farewell to Peter Parker and Yuri Watanabe with the words: “When the Crimson Hour reaches Earth, it will bring justice, judgment, and carnage.” His inclusion makes perfect sense, as Carnage is closely tied to Venom—canonically, he is Venom’s darker, stronger, and more destructive successor.
It’s worth noting that while Insomniac and Sony confirmed Marvel’s Wolverine long ago, Carnage has never been officially announced. So why mention a delay? The original roadmap suggested one game per year from 2025 through 2030, starting with Marvel’s Wolverine. A 2026 release date is simply not the same as 2025…
