Bone Assembly and Devolver Digital unveil a bizarre first-person comedy adventure where a low-level dragon crab guides you toward so-called “financial freedom”—by turning RPG tropes and motivational seminars into absurd parody.
The Dungeon Experience is a satirical first-person adventure in which players meet a dragon crab with big dreams. Once a weak, low-tier RPG monster at the bottom of the food chain, this crab has now “achieved financial freedom” through determination, optimism, and investments in crab-scented candles. Today, he proudly owns a fully equipped dungeon—allegedly asbestos-free—and wants to share his success with you.
Stepping into his lair, players are invited to join an exclusive “training program” designed to teach business savvy through fantasy scenarios. Cutting down goblins is now a literal path to wealth. You’ll also strengthen bonds with potential partners—romantic, platonic, or simply George—while climbing the ranks of a fast-growing community eager for synergy and networking. The ultimate goal? Building a pyramid-shaped model of financial freedom.
Trademarked “financial freedom” and official fine print
The developers even provide tongue-in-cheek disclaimers: “Financial freedom is a trademark owned by The Dungeon Experience and does not imply possession of government-mandated currency. The term ‘open to interpretation’ is open to interpretation, and we’d prefer you not interpret it at all. We actually interpret you as a ‘poor, friendless individual’ who could benefit from our exclusive training program.”
The Dungeon Experience will release in 2026 for PC, with a free demo already available on Steam.
