Massive Entertainment and Ubisoft have announced the release date for the new DLC for the game, which will be released before the end of the year. The new expansion, titled From the Ashes, will be released on December 19, the same day as the theatrical release of Avatar: The Way of Water. Players will be able to play as the Na’vi warrior So’lek and experience a new story of vengeance and survival.

This story is set in a section of the Western Frontier that encompasses a ravaged Kinglor Forest and a brand-new area. Developed by Massive Entertainment, a Ubisoft studio, in collaboration with Lightstorm Entertainment and Disney, From the Ashes takes place shortly after the events of the main game. It takes players on So’lek’s journey, a battle-hardened Na’vi warrior from the Trr’ong clan. After being ambushed and left for dead by the RDA and their new allies, the ruthless Ash clan, So’lek awakens to find his world in flames and his Sarentu family scattered. Driven by grief and vengeance, he sets out to reunite with and protect his loved ones.

From the Ashes can be purchased separately by players who already own the base game or as part of the new From the Ashes Edition, which includes the base game, the expansion, and Floating Mountains Bonus Content (three distinct banshee color patterns inspired by the Valley of Mo’ara in Pandora—The World of Avatar).

This new expansion, From the Ashes, will be released on the same day as the theatrical release of Avatar: Fire and Ash—a film that explores the darker corners of Pandora and introduces the formidable Ash People. We wanted to offer fans a thrilling new perspective on the Western Frontier with deeper storytelling and more visceral gameplay,” added Omar Bouali, Massive Entertainment Creative Director.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora: From the Ashes will be released on December 19 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PC, and Amazon Luna.
