September brought plenty of surprises for Xbox fans, but the best news is that Microsoft isn’t stopping there. The Redmond giant reminds players that they already have access to innovations like a unified PC library — and that’s just the beginning.
Microsoft has steadily been improving the user experience with a wave of new features — many of which rolled out throughout September and are now available worldwide. In fact, the company has announced so many changes, including future updates to its gaming ecosystem, that Xbox published a full recap of everything unveiled in recent weeks. Highlights include a unified PC library and new ecosystem-wide enhancements for PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series.
All of September’s major additions were summarized in an Xbox Wire post, which also offered a preview of what’s coming in October. One of the biggest developments is Gaming Copilot (Beta), an AI assistant that’s gradually being integrated into Xbox systems and designed to offer helpful gameplay tips. Additionally, the Xbox app on PC now includes a new section that brings together all installed games — even those from Steam or the Epic Games Store — into a single hub.
While these headline features are significant, Microsoft has also been working on smaller improvements aimed at polishing the overall experience. These include a game history section with quick cloud access to recent titles, new social widgets, a network quality indicator, and a more intuitive rewards interface. And the best part? The company’s efforts are far from over — October is already shaping up to bring even more upgrades.
ROG Xbox Ally Sells Out Ahead of Release
The ROG Xbox Ally, a handheld device co-developed by Xbox and ASUS, is launching soon — and excitement is already sky-high ahead of its October 16 release. Players will be able to enjoy many of the new features mentioned above through two models: the standard ROG Xbox Ally priced at €599, and the more powerful ROG Xbox Ally X at €899. The latter is already sold out on the Xbox Store, indicating strong demand before launch. However, we’ll have to wait until mid-October to see how the device performs commercially and what kind of experience it delivers.
