No More Heroes’ Creator Wants to Make a Game Based on a DC Character! [VIDEO]

Goichi Suda, better known as Suda51, says he’s eager to try his hand at creating a bloody, over-the-top action game based on a licensed character — and he already knows which DC hero he’d pick.

Suda51 is undoubtedly one of the most eccentric Japanese game developers, and his thoughts are always worth hearing. In a recent interview with Future Game Show, he revealed that he’d love to develop a game based on the Peacemaker character. When asked which DC Comics hero he’d choose if given the chance, he answered:

“Peacemaker. I’d like to see new ways of killing people that aren’t in the show or the comics. That’s one of the things we’re good at at Grasshopper Manufacture: finding ways to kill people and making it nasty, bloody, and brutal. So yeah, I’d like to see Peacemaker come up with some new, creative ways to murder people,” said Suda.

Suda51 has already worked with James Gunn, now co-chair and co-CEO of DC Studios, on the 2012 release of Lollipop Chainsaw, where Gunn helped shape the game’s story and characters. The remastered version, RePop, is already available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch, and as reported earlier, a Nintendo Switch 2 version is also in development.

Today, Gunn — alongside Peter Safran — is the architect of the new DC Universe (DCU), which will include video games, films, and TV shows. Nothing major has happened yet on the gaming side, but Gunn recently expressed excitement about a specific DC project that’s still in early development. We likely won’t hear much more about it this year.

Peacemaker made headlines recently when Epic Games removed his iconic dance emote from Fortnite after an unexpected twist in episode six of the show’s second season, currently streaming on HBO Max.
