While Electronic Arts has yet to share official figures, a new analyst report sheds light on some impressive results.
The strong number of concurrent players on Steam already hinted that Battlefield 6 would be a major success. However, the latest newsletter from Alinea Analytics paints a clearer picture, incorporating sales data from other platforms. According to the firm, the game has already sold over 6.5 million copies across PC and consoles, generating more than $350 million in revenue — putting it close to Call of Duty levels, which EA reportedly aimed to match.
The majority of players (56.7%) purchased the game via Steam, where more than 3.5 million units were sold, bringing in over $220 million. On consoles, PlayStation 5 players accounted for 23.7%, narrowly edging out Xbox Series at 19.6% — a surprising result considering the larger PS5 install base. Xbox fans have long gravitated toward shooters, while PlayStation players tend to enjoy a broader mix of genres.
Alinea Analytics notes that the game continues to maintain strong player engagement. Its report highlights that the daily active user curve for Battlefield 6 remains “extremely flat,” meaning that player retention is stable while new users continue to join daily. Unsurprisingly, most Steam buyers are also fans of other shooters like Call of Duty, Helldivers 2, The Finals, Marvel Rivals, Ready or Not, and earlier Battlefield titles. Regionally, one-third of the Steam player base is from the United States, 15% from China, and 3% from Japan — reflecting the growing popularity of PC shooters in the Japanese market.
This appears to be just the start of what Electronic Arts hopes will be a thriving live-service experience. Developers have already begun rolling out the first balancing updates. Season 1 launches on October 28, featuring new maps, modes, weapons, and more. Meanwhile, the battle royale mode is currently being tested within Battlefield Labs. If that mode proves popular, hitting the 100-million-player milestone may not be out of reach.
