MOVIE NEWS – It’s exceedingly rare to receive two Oscar nominations for the same role; it has happened only six times in Academy history.

According to Variety, the two stars of Wicked—Cynthia Erivo (Best Actress) and Ariana Grande (Best Supporting Actress)—may soon enter that elite club. After last year’s Wicked, the sequel, Wicked: For Good, could bring them repeat nominations, with an even stronger chance of taking home the statuette.

For Erivo, this would be her fourth nomination; beyond last year’s Wicked, she earned two nods in 2020 for Harriet (Best Actress, Best Original Song).
