Thief VR: Legacy of Shadow Returns This Year With Two Platform Trailers and a December 4 Launch [VIDEO]

Welcome back to Thief—now fully in VR: in Thief VR: Legacy of Shadow you become Magpie, slipping through The City’s labyrinth of rooftops, pickpocketing guards, prying open hidden compartments, and firing specialized arrows as Baron Ulysses Northcrest’s iron-fisted Watch hunts you through a grim, steampunk-tinged world.

Maze Theory and Vertigo Games dropped two fresh clips—one per platform—showcasing PS VR2 and Meta Quest gameplay. It’s the series’ first full VR outing, blending classic stealth with tactile interactions: use your body to sneak, your hands to loot and lock-bypass, and your bow to distract, disable, or quietly remove threats.

Under Northcrest’s rule, The City is a place of fear. Orphaned by his brutality and forged by the streets, Magpie steals to survive—until a legendary artifact reveals a legacy from the past and a conspiracy that threatens the City’s very foundations.

Every heist supports multiple routes and playstyles: ghost past patrols unseen, or strike surgically from the shadows. Scale rooftops, slip through alleys, and uncover secrets while experimenting with a toolkit of arrow types and gadgets tailored to misdirection, control, or lethality.

The promised “return this year” is now firm: December 4 on PlayStation VR2, SteamVR, Meta Quest 3, and Meta Quest 2—VR headsets only. The first video below features PS VR2 gameplay; the second showcases Meta Quest capture.

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
