Rumors suggest that several projects are in development at the same time, meaning Master Chief’s future will run on multiple routes at once.
Leaker leaks_infinite wrote on Twitter that Halo: Campaign Evolved is just the beginning of an ongoing series of remakes. The story modes of the second and third games are reportedly being reworked and, like the remake of the first game, will support optional sprinting. These games do not include a multiplayer segment because Halo Studios does not want to divide its fan base between multiple multiplayer experiences. For this reason, Halo 7, reportedly already in development, will be the only game with a multiplayer mode.
According to the leaker, Halo Studios wants everyone to play Halo 7’s multiplayer mode. They don’t want to create competing, separate multiplayer experiences, which is why they aren’t making them separately. This is an important factor, especially since these games will be released on PlayStation as well. The insider clarified that the seventh main installment will have its own story and be a continuation of Halo Infinite. However, it’s possible that the multiplayer mode and campaign won’t be released simultaneously. They may be released separately, as we saw with Halo Infinite, where the campaign was paid and the multiplayer mode was free-to-play.
Halo 2 & Halo 3 are being remade, yes they will have sprint. No multiplayer, only campaign. Full remakes.

Leaks_Infinite added that Halo 7 is unlikely to be the actual title of the next episode because the developers appear unwilling to return to numbered games. The development team formerly known as 343 Industries is reportedly working on more than four projects at the moment. One of these was announced last week.
It all starts with Halo: Campaign Evolved, which is set to release in 2026 for the Xbox Series, PC, and — for the first time in the franchise’s history — the PlayStation 5. The game features a remake of the franchise’s debut using Unreal Engine 5, as well as optional sprint mechanics, new weapons, and updated mechanics carried over from later installments. It also includes three new missions that take place before the start of the original Halo: Combat Evolved.
