Silent Hill 2 Remake: Will There Be Additional Content Alongside the New Port?

Additional content may be coming to Silent Hill 2 Remake, which was released on October 8 last year for PlayStation 5 and PC.

One of Bloober Team’s writers hinted at the possibility of an Xbox Series version of the game and the release of the Born From a Wish DLC. Grzegorz Like, the lead writer of Cronos: The New Dawn, responded on Twitter to the ESRB rating for the Xbox Series X/S version of the game. He wrote, “Well, who would have thought!”—indirectly confirming the upcoming announcement—but he has since deleted the tweet. Another Twitter user replied that this was a strange situation and wondered whether the Xbox Series version of Silent Hill 2 Remake would include the Born From a Wish DLC as the original game did on Xbox. Like replied, “Born from what?” further fueling speculation.

In October, the Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) officially rated the game for Microsoft’s current-gen consoles, suggesting that the PlayStation 5’s one-year exclusivity is over and that an official release date announcement is imminent. According to the listing, Silent Hill 2, like the PlayStation 5 and PC versions, has been rated M (Mature), recommended for ages 17 and up due to blood and violence, sexual themes, strong language, and violence. The description outlines the game’s adult content, including disturbing imagery, combat violence, and themes of trauma and sexual abuse—elements that have long defined the series’ psychological-horror identity.

The critically and commercially successful Silent Hill 2 Remake is a modern reinterpretation of the 2001 psychological-horror classic developed by Team Silent. Bloober Team reimagined the story of James Sunderland, a grieving man drawn to the fog-shrouded, haunted town of Silent Hill after receiving a mysterious letter. Directed by Mateusz Lenart, the remake features an environment rebuilt in Unreal Engine 5, an over-the-shoulder camera system, and re-recorded audio, while retaining the eerie atmosphere that defined the original.

Will the Nintendo Switch 2 get it too?
