The End of History Begins Early Access – A Strategic RPG in a Living Medieval Sandbox

Tatamibeya (of Nostalgic Train) and WorldMap will roll out Early Access on Steam on December 10; the demo is playable now, the 1.0 release is not imminent, Early Access is planned to last six to twelve months, and the price is $28.

The End of History is a strategic RPG that lets you live freely in a vast sandbox simulating medieval feudal society. Hear out citizens, trade, plunder, serve as a noble, claim a domain, usurp the throne, wage long wars, and face betrayal. Your intentions, intertwined with those of countless NPCs, generate unique stories – not a fixed script, but an unrepeatable history shaped by the player.

Combat centers on formation orders and coordinated maneuvers that enable flanking and positional advantage. Feedback from the demo highlighted control feel and pacing; the developers say these have been addressed for Early Access, and they will keep iterating with the community to deliver smoother, more strategic battles.

Your mission is to halt a world sliding toward collapse, stoked by hatred and division. Every action carries consequences. You can grow from a nameless wanderer into a thief, trader, knight, or even a king. The Obelisk – a towering, enigmatic construct – holds the wisdom of a seemingly boundless world, its fragments scattered and waiting to be pieced together.

The demo also spotlighted broader requests: faster combat responsiveness, clearer tutorials and UI, controller support, richer role-playing options, and a pass on game balance. The team is working in two phases – pre-launch and post-launch – refining enemy AI and combat feel, stripping out tutorial interruptions, and reworking early-game systems that made the opening hours too easy.

From day one, you’ll have access to Sandbox Mode, a new Found a Nation path for independent factions, and romance interactions with NPCs. The current interface was built primarily for mouse; a large-scale redesign is planned to support controller play and make navigation more intuitive. Controller functionality will arrive alongside the UI update, but thorough testing means it will take additional time.

The End of History hits PC via Steam Early Access on December 10 for $28, with a six-to-twelve-month Early Access window.

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
