Bethesda Game Studios (BGS) may be taking on too much, as there are major games that audiences have been waiting for nearly a decade.
Fans of The Elder Scrolls can rest assured that The Elder Scrolls VI will be BGS’s next big game. However, Fallout fans are still wondering when the studio will release Fallout 5, which may already have been given the green light. For now, the only new stories coming out of the Fallout universe are the Amazon TV series Fallout, the game Fallout 76, and mods such as Fallout: London.
In the short term, however, we can expect the announced remasters, one for Fallout 3 and, according to a new rumor, one for Fallout: New Vegas. After Todd Howard spoke with GQ magazine about the latest re-release of Fallout 4, Fallout 4: Anniversary Edition, Jez Corden from Windows Central tweeted that a Fallout 3 remaster is also in the works, similar to The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered. Jez Corden from Windows Central tweeted that a Fallout: New Vegas remaster is also in development.

This isn’t the first time we’ve heard rumors about a New Vegas remaster this year. In July, rumors surfaced that several Fallout projects were in development, including remasters of the aforementioned games. The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered attracted over 9 million players to the new version of the Bethesda Game Studios (BGS) classic, remaining one of the best-selling games in the United States in 2025.
Bethesda Game Studios (BGS) knows there’s money to be made with these remaster and remake projects. Considering the popular Amazon TV series will feature New Vegas characters in its second season, the timing is perfect for BGS to release a series of Fallout remasters. Microsoft is certainly pushing for this.
