While PS Plus Extra and Premium are being refreshed with the nine titles in the November 2025 lineup – and with the first Red Dead Redemption due to arrive in early December in a native PS5 version – there is also a downside: Sony has confirmed that a total of nine games, including GTA 3 and Battlefield 2042, will exit the service with the final update of the year.

PlayStation has once again updated PS Plus, specifically the catalog available to Extra and Premium subscribers, to roll out the games included in the November 2025 selection. This batch will soon be followed by the arrival of the original Red Dead Redemption, which is set to join the service at the beginning of December with its native PS5 edition. However, Sony’s subscription model not only adds new titles on a monthly basis, it also regularly prunes its extensive library. We already know which nine games will be leaving PS Plus in December.

According to the PS Plus section on PlayStation consoles, the next refresh of the subscription will remove several games from the Extra and Premium tiers, with GTA 3 and Battlefield 2042 standing out among them. There is still no official confirmation of the exact removal date, but based on Sony’s track record for adding and rotating titles, it is highly likely that the list below will disappear from the catalog around mid-December. In other words, players still have a few days left to jump in or wrap up their playthroughs before these games leave the service.

PlayStation 5 Still Hasn’t Received Its Defining Generation Game

Alongside the shifts in the PS Plus catalog, Sony has also been talking a lot in recent days about what lies ahead for PS5. The company insists it has no plans to launch a PS6 in the short term, arguing that the current console is only halfway through its lifecycle and still has plenty of room to grow.

PlayStation is so confident in the console’s future that it believes PS5 owners have yet to see the generation’s most important game. At least, that is what Eric Lempel, the company’s senior vice president, hinted in a recent interview, although he did not go into detail about what this mysterious title might be. It could end up being a first-party project like Marvel’s Wolverine or the hugely anticipated GTA VI. For now, though, we can only wait and see which release ultimately becomes the defining game of the PS5 era.
