Stellar Blade has quickly become one of the standout hack and slash games of recent years. After debuting in 2025 as a PS5 exclusive, Shift Up’s action title later arrived on PC, where it turned into a major commercial hit and built a huge, long-term player base. In South Korea, it now stands shoulder to shoulder with hits like Lies of P. With that success behind it, fans are eager to see what the studio has planned for the sequel – and a new hint suggests the second game is being designed for multiple platforms right from the start.
Stellar Blade has cemented itself as one of the key hack and slash releases of this generation. The game from Korean studio Shift Up first launched as a PlayStation 5 exclusive in 2025, then expanded to PC, where it found even greater success and attracted a massive community. On its home turf, the title has become a new reference point alongside fellow Korean hit Lies of P. With that momentum, it is no surprise that players are closely watching for any sign of what the team is planning for the next chapter, which already appears to be targeting a broader rollout.
As reported by outlets such as MP1st, a job listing on Shift Up’s official website describes Stellar Blade 2 as a multiplatform action game, explicitly mentioning a release on “multiple consoles and PC.” The use of the plural for consoles all but rules out another PS5-only launch and strongly suggests a simultaneous release on Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2, or at least that this is the goal the studio is working toward.
The listing also notes that the new game will build on the combat system from Stellar Blade and take place in the same universe, while aiming for more “evolved” gameplay. The director had already hinted at this a few months ago, when he suggested the sequel could arrive in 2027. Beyond refining combat, the Korean creator has repeatedly said he wants to deliver a more powerful, emotionally engaging story in Stellar Blade 2.
Will Stellar Blade Be Released on Nintendo Switch 2 and Xbox Series X|S?
In recent days, there has also been a lot of talk about the first Stellar Blade following in the footsteps of Helldivers 2 by expanding to other platforms in order to reach a wider audience. Shift Up has acknowledged that it is considering bringing the hack and slash title to additional systems as a way to strengthen the Stellar Blade brand and increase total sales, although nothing has been finalized yet.
If the team ultimately decides to move forward, Stellar Blade could find its way to Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, or both. That would dovetail neatly with the broader strategy of positioning Stellar Blade 2 as a fully multiplatform release from day one.
