Vision Quench: Dark Fantasy Looter Shooter Published by Pocketpair [VIDEO]

WizMud Games and Pocketpair Publishing are taking the Borderlands formula in a slightly different direction. However, they have no plans to release the game on consoles.

Vision Quench is an online, cooperative, dark fantasy, looter shooter set in the underbelly of a mega dungeon owned by a consumer goods conglomerate. Within its halls, you will fight ancient foes and modern horrors. Can you survive long enough to make it to the top? The last remnant of a vanished bargain lies unclaimed atop the Green Tower, where the Sweepstakes Code endures as both a promise and a curse. To claim it, you and your three companions, drawn together by a distant memory, must fight your way up the tower through a sprawling labyrinth of hidden designs, metaphysical phenomena, and all manner of foul creatures. Gather the cursed commodities lingering in the wasteland, perform the ritual beneath the green haze, or consume the commodities to quench your thirst for special abilities. Try not to get lost in your aspartame-drenched nightmare; remember, you’re here for the code.

Each vision quest is different from those that came before; the tower’s halls shift and change as you make your way up. Your arsenal of weapons and junk food won’t be enough to reach the code. You’ll also need to use the light from your orb to uncover truths beneath the tiles, decode the riddle on the bleeding wall, no-clip through the psychic geofence, and, above all, fend off the entity. Free the cursed objects from the designs that bound them. Channel their residue through the Orb, whose light can dispel illusions and unwanted presences.

Vision Quench features reactive 3D voice chat that allows you to connect with your teammates on a spiritual level. Fight enemies with an arsenal of medieval and contemporary weapons scattered throughout the dungeon. Weapons range from torches and morning stars to fireworks and GloweeZ guns. One player can carry a backpack, allowing everyone to stay mobile while looting. Items can easily be tossed in and out of the bag. Protect the backpack carrier at all costs, or at least the backpack. Be mindful of your party’s status; even in this altered state, players can become ill and pass it on to others.

You can easily throw bandages and soda to friends in need, but be careful when throwing things like fireworks and cinder blocks. When you die, you’ll become a Freakopop: a plastic toy that can be picked up and thrown around. Use your newfound Freako Vision to assist the living. Your presence may be noticed by the Entity: A shadowy creature that takes on different forms. If you don’t play by its rules, it will try to disconnect you from your vision quest. With a wide range of customization options, you can become the adventurer you’ve always wanted to be. Wizard hats, chain gauntlets, and trucker hats—the possibilities are endless.

Vision Quench will be released for PC sometime next year.

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
