Two Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas Modders Have Started Developing Their Own Game!

The creators of Blue & Blood, an ambitious total conversion mod that depicts Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas from the perspective of the LSPD’s infamous CRASH unit, have confirmed that they are developing a new indie game inspired by a strange but exciting mix of titles spanning multiple genres. Mafia, Schedule I, Graveyard Keeper, and Stardew Valley also served as inspiration for their project, which is still in its very early stages.

The creators of Blue & Blood, an ambitious total conversion mod depicting Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas from the perspective of the LSPD’s infamous CRASH unit, have confirmed that they are developing a new indie game inspired by an unusual mix of titles spanning multiple genres. While discussing the details of their Grand Theft Auto project, Cascavel and Giacobbe, who have transitioned from modders to developers, cited Stardew Valley, Graveyard Keeper, Mafia, and Schedule I as sources of inspiration for their standalone game. Although details are still scarce, the pair describes the project as a system-based game with a strong narrative core that combines the charm and loop-based depth of life simulators with the rawness and atmosphere of crime dramas.

According to Giacobbe, they are not revealing anything yet. They started with overly ambitious plans, but it would have taken years, so they made the concept more realistic and feasible. Currently, they are focusing on building the MVP game loop while maintaining their commitment to modding. The duo cites Schedule I, a highly successful game developed by one person, as their main motivation. According to Cascavel, they were not inspired by financial success, but by the fact that one person was able to create a world that truly touched players. They thought, “If he could do it, why couldn’t we?”

While they remain committed to Blue & Blood and the upcoming Grand Theft Auto Palmline project, a reimagining of Vice City with San Andreas mechanics, the indie title represents their first step toward developing an original game.

Their project doesn’t have a name, footage, or release date yet. For now, it’s just two modders with ten years of experience in storytelling, screenwriting, and world-building who want to create something unique. According to Giacobbe, they are still in the early stages, but they are creating a game that they would love to play themselves…

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
