It’s one of those surprises nobody was hoping for: PS Plus is losing a title featuring the actor who played Frodo in The Lord of the Rings. 11-11: Memories Retold will soon disappear from the catalog. We already expected nine removals for December, but Sony has quietly added a tenth game to the list.
Video game subscription libraries evolve in two directions: new titles arrive, and others are removed. PlayStation has built PS Plus around this cycle, and subscribers are now used to watching games vanish each month from the Extra and Premium tiers. We knew ahead of time that December would see nine departures, but Sony has now revealed one more unexpected exit: the narrative-focused 11-11: Memories Retold, featuring Elijah Wood (Frodo in The Lord of the Rings).
As reported by GameRant, the PS Store page for 11-11: Memories Retold shows that the game remains available through the Extra catalog. This access ends on December 16th, meaning the game will disappear mid-month alongside the nine titles already scheduled for removal. After the final PS Plus update of the year, the following releases will no longer be included:
• 11-11: Memories Retold
• Battlefield 2042
• Grand Theft Auto 3
• Arcade Paradise VR
• Sonic Frontiers
• Forspoken
• Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy’s Edge
• Firefighting Simulator: The Squad
• Surviving Mars
• Star Trek: The Bridge
A Tough World War I Journey
11-11: Memories Retold unfolds during World War I and follows two intertwined stories: a young Canadian photographer who joins the Western Front in Europe (voiced by Elijah Wood), and a German technician who enlists after discovering that his son has gone missing in action (portrayed by Sebastian Koch). The game portrays the highs and lows of both paths, capturing the brutal reality of one of history’s deadliest conflicts with an art style inspired by watercolor paintings.
This isn’t a shooter or a tactical war title, but a narrative-driven experience built around its two protagonists. As mentioned earlier, 11-11: Memories Retold leaves PS Plus on December 16th, giving players only a few days left to experience this emotional and thought-provoking journey.
