MOVIE NEWS – At the Banger Gyár agency’s Santa party, guests did not just get a festive night out; they also caught the very first glimpse of Megafilm Service’s new romantic comedy, Még egy kívánság. The real shock wave, however, came from the film’s freshly formed band, Dead Flamingos, who played their first-ever live set and turned a cozy industry event into a full-blown fan frenzy within minutes.
Amid strong media interest, the first official teaser for the new Hungarian romantic comedy Még egy kívánság was unveiled. Produced by Megafilm Service, the movie is set to arrive in Hungarian cinemas in 2026. The teaser offers a sneak peek into the magical concept at the heart of the story: a mysterious wish notebook that can erase anything from existence with a simple ritual – you write it down, tear out the page, burn it, then go to sleep. The catch is brutal in its simplicity: only the last wish counts, so one impulsive thought can change everything.
“This film is a Hungarian development, not an adaptation, not a remake; there is no book or stage play behind it. It is a truly Hungarian movie! It is a kind of know-how that we would actually like to offer as a remake for others, so they can follow our lead,” explained producer Dorottya Helmeczy at the presentation.
Exclusive Behind-the-Scenes Details
Még egy kívánság is set in the present day and follows Juli, a late-twenties music manager who has grown a bit too comfortable in both her career and her personal life. Her predictable routine is turned upside down when she stumbles upon the wish notebook that can make anything – or anyone – disappear from the world. After a professional mistake backs her into a corner, her only way out is to turn an unknown band into the next big thing. To pull this off, she starts using the notebook more and more, and the wishes she writes down become increasingly extreme…
The film promises not only an emotionally engaging story but also a carefully crafted visual world, where intimate everyday moments and big dramatic turns are given equal weight.
At the teaser screening, the filmmakers and cast members also took the stage and shared exclusive behind-the-scenes stories with the audience. T. Danny, one of the film’s stars and a dominant figure of the Hungarian social media scene, appeared fittingly via video message, and the team also revealed what might await the band that came together especially for the movie.
“We became very close friends with the guys in a short time, so we are absolutely open to continuing. Plus, our ballad is, in my opinion, seriously hit-worthy…” – hinted Kádár L. Gellért, who plays Karesz and steals hearts as both guitarist and vocalist.
Guests also got to see behind-the-scenes stills and short clips from the shoot, giving an even clearer impression of the movie’s tone and universe.
“I am very grateful that we had the chance to tell this story. Through my favorite genre, comedy, we can bring a message to people that really makes them think: love yourself enough to understand that the solution to your life is not something that comes from outside,” – added lead director Kata Dobó.
Még egy kívánság is scheduled to hit cinemas in 2026.
