007 First Light: A Glimpse Behind the Scenes [VIDEO]

Danish IO Interactive’s new series, Beyond the Light, will provide insight into the development of the young James Bond’s adventures.

The release date of the new James Bond game is rapidly approaching. To prepare for it, the Danish team launched a new video series titled Beyond the Light on the game’s YouTube channel. The series offers a behind-the-scenes look at the game’s development. The first episode features the developers’ reactions to and opinions on the gameplay. It also features Andreas Krogh, the director of gameplay for IO Interactive’s 007: First Person Shooter, and Thomas Pulluello, a senior level designer.

At the Xbox Partner Preview event just over a week ago, IO Interactive confirmed that Bond will drive the iconic silver Aston Martin Valhalla, equipped with Q’s spy gear, in 007 First Light. With the release of the first episode of Beyond the Light, the studio revealed that it is ready for the release of its first major new game since 2021. Hitman III, now known as Hitman: World of Assassination, was released then and includes the content of the first two episodes.

Regarding plans after 007 First Light, the studio recently confirmed that it is working on another new game. It is not an external IP but rather a new, proprietary IP that they are developing. It is one of two projects alongside the fantasy RPG that the studio is developing, and which does not yet have a title. More Hitman games will also be released, as mentioned yesterday in the news, which means that together with 007 First Light, the studio is currently working on three projects. Hopefully, this will not affect the quality of their work.

By this time next year, we should hear more about what the studio is working on. 007 First Light is set to release on March 27 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC, and then the studio can start working on its next projects.
