PlayStation 5: A Hit in the UK and US on Black Friday!

Sony’s console took the lead in two key regions, and the PlayStation 5 Pro also performed well.

According to NielsenIQ hardware sales data published by The Game Business, the PlayStation 5 was the biggest winner of Black Friday 2025 in the UK, accounting for 62% of the console market during the week. This suggests that console sales increased during the promotional period compared to the previous year, with revenue rising by 14% and unit sales by 7%. This increase was primarily driven by the PlayStation 5, which performed better this year than last, partly due to Sony’s aggressive price discounts. The standard PlayStation 5 was 21% cheaper than two weeks earlier, while the digital edition was 34% cheaper. The PlayStation 5 Pro, available at an all-time low price of £586, had its best week since launch. The Xbox Series accounted for 10% of the market during Black Friday week. The Nintendo Switch 2 achieved a 23% market share on Black Friday, albeit at a higher average selling price, while the Nintendo Switch achieved 5%.

The best-selling games for the week ending November 30 were as follows:
