Cyberpunk 2077 Is Five Years Old, and Several Projects Are Already in the Works! [VIDEO]

CD Projekt RED’s (CDPR) game has had a rocky road, but the Night City adventure is now stable and reliable, and it will also get a sequel.

Five years have passed since CDPR released Cyberpunk 2077. To celebrate the fifth anniversary of its latest game, the Polish studio has released a special trailer that looks back on the emotional story experienced by the protagonist, V, and the players in the city of legends. In terms of revenue and copies sold, Cyberpunk 2077 was the biggest digital game launch of all time (10.2 million copies sold). However, the game’s bugs and poor performance on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One severely damaged its reputation. This was especially true when Sony removed the game from the PlayStation Store, an almost unprecedented move for such a high-profile game, until the developer resolved the issues.

CDPR worked hard to resolve these issues and ultimately delivered a more refined and expanded experience with various updates, particularly version 2.0, as well as the excellent Phantom Liberty expansion. Fans have recognized the improvement, and Cyberpunk 2077 is popular again. It has sold over 35 million copies, and that number will increase this holiday season thanks to significant discounts (up to 65% off) at several stores.

Fans can also look forward to the new Cyberpunk Trading Card Game, which was announced in collaboration with WeirdCo. Like most TCGs, the game will appear on Kickstarter next year in the form of crowdfunding. The Cyberpunk TCG allows players to assemble the best team of edgerunners from among the franchise’s characters and battle opponents to become legends of Night City. The Cyberpunk TCG features unique artwork for card players, avid collectors, and fans of the Cyberpunk franchise.

In celebration of the fifth anniversary, several new partnerships and products have been announced, offering players more ways to immerse themselves in the world of Cyberpunk 2077. The Cyberpunk 2077 5th Anniversary Collector’s Set is now available for preorder, offering players the chance to acquire Arasaka’s secret technology. The steel case contains a glowing replica of the Relic biochip from the game, a USB drive with the soundtrack, three holographic tarot cards, and two pins. The set is available at the CDPR Gear Store with or without the Cyberpunk 2077 Ultimate Edition.

In collaboration with Corsair, an Arasaka Edition keyboard, mouse, and mousepad are now available for preorder. New Displates featuring unique graphics inspired by movie posters are also available. These Displates transform iconic Cyberpunk 2077 characters, such as Jackie Welles, Panam Palmer, and Adam Smasher, into future stars. CDPR collaborated with Viture to create the limited-edition Cyberpunk 2077 Luma Cyber XR glasses. These high-tech glasses are available for purchase at the Viture store for $550. Finally, Madrinas is releasing a new Cyberpunk 2077 collection. It includes an anniversary cold beer and shaker set and is available for pre-order for $33.
