Clair Obscur: Expedition 33: Thanks from the Devs in the Form of a New Update [VIDEO]

Sandfall Interactive and Kepler Interactive won two major awards at the end of the year, and are celebrating with a new update to their turn-based RPG.

The Thank You update introduces a new playable environment that takes the characters of Expedition 33 to Verso’s Drafts, a whimsical storybook adventure tied to a young Verso. Players will encounter celebratory Gestrals and surprising new locations, as well as an encounter with a sinister, powerful presence. The update also features new music tracks by Lorien Testard, the award-winning composer behind the Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 soundtrack. These tracks are now available on digital streaming platforms and YouTube. Late-game players will face challenging boss battles within the Endless Tower. Defeating these formidable opponents will reward players with powerful new Pictos, costumes, and gear.

The update also introduces an official Photo Mode, which players have been requesting. This mode allows players to pause the action and commemorate their favorite moments from the game’s story and battles. The update includes new text and user interface localizations in Czech, Ukrainian, Latin American Spanish, Turkish, Vietnamese, Thai, and Indonesian, bringing the total number of supported languages to 19. The developers added FSR 4 support, including AMD temporal upscaling for sharper visuals and frame generation for smoother gameplay on compatible GPUs. There are also new quality-of-life improvements and other new features, as well as further improvements to the game’s performance across platforms, including handheld PC systems.

Sandfall Interactive’s debut game made a huge splash at The Game Awards. Yesterday, we reported on the winners of each category at the year’s final major event. We can almost certainly expect more than one occasion in 2026 when Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 will win prestigious awards at other events. After all, Baldur’s Gate 3 started out in such an explosive fashion two years ago, and it’s still popular today.
