[TGA 2025] Marvel Rivals: New Season, New Character, And a Half Season [VIDEO]

While NetEase Games announced the game’s sixth season, the fifth-and-a-half season is already live, and yes, that is the official naming the Chinese developers are going with.

Marvel Rivals showing up at The Game Awards was not the night’s biggest shock, but the new trailer matched the show’s pace and spectacle, and it confirmed that Deadpool joins the roster on January 16 alongside the launch of Season 6. Season 5.5, which adds Rogue after Gambit, is already available. The Season 6 announcement video, the first one referenced in the original materials, ended up as one of the night’s most energetic reveals, with Deadpool firing off character-accurate jokes, especially the fourth-wall-breaking kind.

NetEase says it will share more details ahead of Season 6, titled Night at the Museum, and Deadpool’s arrival, but for now Season 5.5 is the update players can actually jump into, bringing a new vanguard in the form of Rogue from the X-Men. Season 5.5 also brings back Jeff Winter’s Splash Festival with a new holiday-themed map called Jeffland, featuring a new three-sided fight and three unique Jeff structures, each with its own abilities. There are also plenty of winter- and holiday-themed skins meant to keep the seasonal vibe going from match to match.

As with any seasonal update, the half-season also comes with plenty of tweaks, balance passes, and bug fixes, including spectator-system improvements, new emotes, fixes for incorrectly recorded player stats, and more. The full rundown is in the patch notes, while NetEase’s Dev Vision video highlights the biggest changes.

Marvel Rivals launched on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC last December, and the PlayStation 4 port arrived this September. The question now is when, if ever, a Nintendo Switch 2 version enters the conversation.
