GSC Game World’s game has received another major update, marking a significant step forward.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl has received several major updates since its launch last November. Most of these focused on fixing issues and refining systems such as A-Life and faction dynamics. The latest update, Stories Untold, expands the Zone itself with new areas and missions aimed at veteran stalkers.
The update centers on a mysterious transmission within the Zone that causes headaches, nosebleeds, and hallucinations. The storyline becomes available after players leave the Zalissya region early in the game, triggering a PDA message that can appear anywhere, especially near the Burnt Forest.
According to GSC Game World, the new content adds more than five hours of gameplay, including eight missions and seven new locations. While the studio has not detailed these areas, they are freely explorable and feature the dynamic events familiar to the series.
The update also introduces a new weapon, the GP37V2, a modified version of the GP37 with a pre-installed suppressor and scope. A simplified save option has been added for Master Difficulty and Expedition Mode, allowing manual saves anywhere.
Additional fixes address multiple technical issues, optimize mutant models, and resolve a bug that could spawn massive mutant hordes in the Plant area of the Garbage region.
