TECH NEWS – In the smartphone market, the combined expectation of high performance and long-term reliability is becoming increasingly prominent. Ahead of its European launch, HONOR has unveiled its latest devices, the Magic8 Pro and Magic8 Lite, which provide technologically grounded answers to different user needs.
In parallel with shifting user expectations, increasing emphasis is being placed on devices that offer not only strong computing performance but also reliable operation over the long term. In response, HONOR has brought two new smartphones into the spotlight: the Magic8 Pro, which delivers outstanding results in raw performance, and the Magic8 Lite, which focuses on durability and battery life. Both models reflect the manufacturer’s human-centric innovation philosophy, combining functionality with a clean design language and intelligent user-oriented solutions.
HONOR Magic8 Pro – Flagship Performance Proven by Independent Benchmarks
The HONOR Magic8 Pro is primarily designed for users who expect stable, fast, and predictable performance from a high-end smartphone. According to independent benchmark tests, the device not only delivers top-tier performance but is also capable of sustaining it over extended periods. In the November 2025 Chinese AnTuTu Benchmark V11 ranking, the model achieved a score of 3,976,558 points, securing fifth place among Android-based smartphones. This result is based on the aggregation of several thousand authenticated measurements conducted between November 1 and 30, 2025.
As the device has not yet launched in Europe, the data originates from pre-release testing carried out on the Chinese market. Nevertheless, it provides a relevant basis for comparison when evaluating the 2025 flagship segment. The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 mobile platform, combined with LPDDR5X memory and UFS 4.0 storage, ensures smooth multitasking, stable performance in resource-intensive games, and reliable operation in creative applications, all while maintaining efficient energy consumption.
The 6.71-inch LTPO OLED display supports up to a 120 Hz adaptive refresh rate, with peak brightness reaching 6,000 nits, ensuring excellent visibility even in bright outdoor conditions. The 6,270 mAh silicon–carbon battery, paired with HONOR SuperCharge technology, offers 100 W wired and 80 W wireless charging, enabling fast top-ups and all-day usability. Thanks to IP68 and IP69 certifications, the Magic8 Pro also meets higher expectations in terms of water and dust resistance.
HONOR Magic8 Lite – Durability and Extended Battery Life in the Mid-Range
The HONOR Magic8 Lite aims to bring flagship-level reliability to a more accessible price segment. The device holds numerous independent certifications that verify its outstanding resistance. It is the first in the industry to receive the SGS Triple Resistant Premium Performance certification, as well as the SGS 5-Star Comprehensive Reliability rating, both of which assess resistance to drops, dust, and water.
The Magic8 Lite is also certified to IP66, IP68, and IP69K standards, allowing it to withstand high-pressure and high-temperature water jets in accordance with IEC 60529 and ISO 20653 standards. Thanks to HONOR’s Ultra-Bounce Anti-Drop technology and reinforced glass, SGS testing confirms that the device can remain intact even after drops from heights of up to 2.5 meters onto hard surfaces.
The 7,500 mAh silicon–carbon battery, supported by HONOR’s proprietary anti-aging algorithms, delivers up to three days of usage on a single charge. According to measurements from HONOR Labs, the battery retains more than 80% of its capacity even after 1,000 charging cycles. With 66 W HONOR SuperCharge fast charging and Ultra Power Saving Mode, the device can maintain connectivity for longer periods, enabling approximately 60 minutes of calls even at 2% battery level.
The 6.79-inch 1.5K OLED display offers a 120 Hz refresh rate and 6,000 nits of HDR peak brightness. Visual comfort is enhanced by a range of eye-care technologies, including 3,840 Hz risk-free PWM dimming, a nighttime circadian display mode, dynamic brightness adjustment, and hardware-based low blue light emission.
European Launch in January 2026
Both the HONOR Magic8 Pro and HONOR Magic8 Lite are set to launch in Europe in January 2026. Together, the two models illustrate the manufacturer’s long-term strategy, which focuses on balancing enduring performance, physical resilience, and intelligent features. According to HONOR’s philosophy, a modern smartphone should serve as a reliable companion for work, creativity, and entertainment alike, while meeting contemporary expectations in both design and usability.
