The Pikmin 3 Deluxe version includes new side missions starring Olimar and Louie, the option to play Story Mode cooperatively with a friend, and all downloadable content from the original release. Competitive players can enjoy intense Bingo Battle matches against others. Three brave explorers land on planet PNF-404 in search of food for their starving home world. After crash-landing, they must work with the Pikmin to reunite and complete their mission. Direct, throw, and grow Pikmin with distinct abilities and strengths, such as winged Pikmin that can fly or blue Pikmin that can breathe underwater. Choosing the right Pikmin and switching between the three captains, or cooperating with a second player, is key to efficiently collecting fruit and expanding your Pikmin squad.
When you’re not collecting fruit or saving your planet, Mission Mode offers structured challenges such as defeating enemies or gathering items. Scores can be compared with players worldwide via online leaderboards. Bingo Battle offers friendly competition, tasking players with collecting items on a bingo card before their opponent. With expanded co-op options, beginner-friendly settings, new side stories, and more, these tiny Pikmin are heading into their biggest adventure yet.
Pikmin 3 Deluxe, an enhanced version of the Wii U title, launched on Nintendo Switch on October 30, 2020. Nintendo has not yet announced a Nintendo Switch 2 version. Pikmin 4, released on July 21, 2023, recently received a free update, but no Switch 2 upgrade.
However, Pikmin 3 Deluxe has been rated for Nintendo Switch 2 by the European PEGI board. As a result, a port appears inevitable and could be released without fanfare during a Nintendo Direct.
