MOVIE NEWS – Nearly two decades after George Clooney last led a high-stakes heist on screen, the franchise is finally moving forward. Ocean’s 14 is taking shape with a plan to reunite many of the faces that defined the series in the 2000s.
In an interview with Variety, George Clooney confirmed that Ocean’s 14 will bring back most of the original cast, including Julia Roberts, Matt Damon, Don Cheadle, and Brad Pitt. The script is complete, the team is scouting locations, and production is scheduled to begin in October 2026.
Clooney also explained why the idea of an older crew excites him. “There was something about the idea that we’re too old to do what we used to do, but we’re still smart enough to know how to get away with something. They’ve lost a step, and they need to find a way to work around their limitations”, he said.
Steven Soderbergh directed the original trilogy beginning with 2001’s Ocean’s Eleven, but he will not direct the fourth film. Clooney and Brad Pitt attempted to recruit Conclave director Edward Berger, who ultimately stepped away, citing that it still felt like Soderbergh’s franchise. Reports in early 2025 suggested David Leitch (Deadpool 2, Bullet Train) was in talks to helm the sequel. While not officially confirmed, the production timeline points to real momentum.
The Confirmed Cast of Ocean’s 14 So Far
The confirmed lineup includes George Clooney as Danny Ocean, Brad Pitt as Rusty Ryan, Matt Damon as Linus Caldwell, Don Cheadle as Basher Tarr, and Andy García as Terry Benedict. García confirmed earlier this year that he would be “back for more.” Production was initially slated for January 2026 before being delayed to October due to scheduling conflicts.
Plot details remain under wraps. Benedict’s return could signal a familiar antagonist—or an unexpected ally. With filming set for fall 2026, a late-2027 or 2028 release is plausible. Warner Bros. will produce and distribute the film.
