Umami Grove: VR Cooking Game Coming to Another Platform [VIDEO]

Pomshine Games and Dangen Entertainment are bringing their virtual reality title to a new platform.

An engaging and interactive VR journey awaits. Umami Grove is a vibrant, physics-based virtual reality adventure where cooking, exploration, and playful experimentation come together. Jump, climb, tumble, and swing through colorful worlds while helping adorable characters gather tasty ingredients and prepare delicious meals, all by using your hands and the environment around you.

Pick apples from tall trees, slice mushrooms on a table, or experiment with unexpected objects. Throwing a fish might not solve your problem, but you will never know until you try. Along the way, meet a charming cast of creatures who may need help with cooking, getting back to bed, or simply avoiding accidental destruction of their belongings.

As you progress, you will also uncover the mystery behind the ultimate reward: the Golden Acorns. From treetops to tabletops, danger is always present, and your cooking skills must constantly improve. Quite literally, you will get your hands dirty in this unique VR cooking adventure.

Umami Grove originally launched on April 24, 2025, for Meta Quest and SteamVR. The VR cooking adventure is now heading to PlayStation VR2, where it will launch on January 27 for $20. While it does not appear to be a AAA-scale experience, the price feels fair and avoids the typical $70 premium.

PlayStation VR2 has seen relatively few releases lately, so any new arrival is welcome on Sony’s headset. As far as recent trends suggest, only one or two new games tend to appear each month for the PlayStation 5-compatible device. (The headset can also be used on PC, but doing so requires the PlayStation VR2 app.)

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
