Aphelion: Renowned Composer to Work on Don’t Nod’s Game! [VIDEO]

Don’t Nod’s upcoming sci-fi action-adventure will feature a score by César Award-winning composer Amine Bouhafa and will also receive a physical release on PlayStation 5.

Don’t Nod has announced that the cinematic third-person sci-fi action-adventure Aphelion will feature an original score composed by César Award-winning French-Tunisian composer Amine Bouhafa. Bouhafa is best known for his work on films such as Timbuktu (2014), The Summit of the Gods (2021), and The Little Sister (2025).

Players can expect Bouhafa’s distinctive blend of epic scale and emotional intimacy, bringing the planet Persephone to life while accompanying Ariane and Thomas on their journey. His music captures the atmosphere of the world, the tension surrounding the Nemesis, and the emotional bonds between the characters. The accompanying video showcases Bouhafa’s use of instruments like the pipe organ and the unique Cristal Baschet to reflect the sacred tone of the adventure and Persephone’s frozen identity.

Bouhafa noted that this is his first time working on a video game and that he greatly enjoyed Don’t Nod’s approach to integrating music with gameplay. “It has been a real pleasure to collaborate with Amine on Aphelion. We discovered his work through The Summit of the Gods and were immediately struck by his ability to convey intimacy within a grand, epic adventure. Amine is deeply emotionally intelligent and sincere. I hope players will feel that connection and be moved by the experience,” said Florent Guillaume, creative director at Don’t Nod.

Aphelion is scheduled for release in 2026 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC, and will also be available via Xbox Game Pass. A physical edition is planned exclusively for PlayStation 5, distributed by Maximum Entertainment in North America, Europe, and Australia. No disc release is planned for Xbox Series.

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
