Jack Black Has Taken A Vow Of Silence About The New Super Mario Movie

MOVIE NEWS – Released in 2023, The Super Mario Bros. Movie became the most successful video game adaptation of all time, with audiences spending $1.36 billion at the box office.

The sequel, The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, is aiming for similar heights, bringing the 2007 chapter of the game series to the big screen. The plot is under lock and key, but the title suggests the two brave, Italian plumber brothers will have to face challenges across different planets this time. Naturally, the rest of the cast returns as well: Princess Peach, Bowser, the main villain, and Toad, the heroes’ closest friend.

Bowser will once again be voiced by Jack Black in the original version. MovieWeb tried to get him talking about the film, but the three-time Golden Globe nominee said with regret that a confidentiality clause in his contract requires him to stay silent. He did reveal, however, that The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is packed with Easter eggs – references and clever jokes designed to boost fans’ happiness levels.

MovieWeb added that The Super Mario Galaxy Movie won’t draw only from the Galaxy-era games. Based on the posters released so far, it can be suspected that the installment many consider the best in the series – 2017’s Super Mario Odyssey – also strongly inspired the filmmakers, and it’s unlikely any fan will be upset about that.
