The new game from Demagog Studio and Sixmorevodka will soon be available to try, though it’s uncertain whether it will ever be released for consoles.
The Final Dream is upon us all. After his best friend goes missing, young Khar warrior Coltec must assemble a group of allies and venture into uncharted territory to find the kidnappers. Along the way, they begin to unravel the terrible fate that will soon befall their homeland, Edom. Armed with Vikari’s Bite, his warhammer, and the support of his totem, which lends him powerful combat abilities, Coltec must fight for his friend and his survival.
Orken is an action-adventure game similar to Dark Souls and Dragon’s Dogma. It blends stunning visuals drawn directly from Sixmorevodka’s artwork with tight, stamina-based combat. Fight unknown foes with focused, Soulslike combat based on special abilities that have a cooldown period. Avoid enemy attacks with quick dodges and manage your stamina bar to line up your own counterattacks. A poise meter builds up with each hit on an enemy, eventually leaving them staggered and vulnerable before allowing an execution at low health.
Gain experience through combat and exploration, and level up to unlock new tiers on Coltec’s “Atman,” a totem pole representing his soul’s attunement to the spirit world. Rotating each tier activates or deactivates new abilities, revealing special combinations when abilities align with each other, amplifying some effects and nullifying others. Guide Coltec’s journey through dialogue choices and pivotal story moments to direct his fate toward its inevitable conclusion. Characters react to your actions, allowing Coltec to gain and lose favor with others and influencing the options available to you in the future. Pick your allies carefully and watch your enemies closely.
Sixmorevodka is leading the worldbuilding and visual direction, while Demagog Studio is driving the gameplay systems and combat design. The game is part of a larger fictional universe created by Marko Djurdjevic, but it is being designed as a standalone experience. Orken is positioned as a Neanderthal Western, offering a grounded take on the classic Orcs vs. Humans theme. It blends character-driven storytelling inspired by Mass Effect with weighty, deliberate combat inspired by Dark Souls and presents it through a bold, graphic visual style influenced by Hi-Fi Rush.
Orken is being developed for PC, but a release date has not yet been announced. However, the demo will be available on February 26.
