Clair Obscur: Expedition 33: Set to Sweep the GDC Awards, Too!

Although there aren’t many categories, the game has been nominated in almost all of them, which is impressive.

Similar to the DICE Awards, the GDC Awards are voted on exclusively by game developers and industry professionals. As with the DICE Awards and all other major gaming award galas, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 leads the field with the most nominations, including in the Game of the Year category. It has been nominated in almost every category. There are nine categories in total, and Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 has been nominated in eight of them, which is impressive and shows how respected and loved the game is in the industry. The only category in which it has not been nominated is the social impact category.

Ghost of Yōtei is in second place among the games with multiple nominations, with five nominations. Blue Prince, Donkey Kong Bananza, and Split Fiction received four nominations each. Death Stranding 2: On the Beach and Dispatch received three nominations each. The GDC Awards differ from other award ceremonies in that they list honorable mentions alongside the nominees in each category. Arc Raiders did not receive any nominations but received three honorable mentions. Unlike in previous years when both awards ceremonies were held on the same day during GDC, the GDC Awards will be held on March 12, one day after the IGF Awards.

Anikó, our news editor and communication manager, is more interested in the business side of the gaming industry. She worked at banks, and she has a vast knowledge of business life. Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
