The Devil Doesn’t Return Alone: Daredevil and Jessica Jones Team Up Against a Deadlier Kingpin

MOVIE NEWS – Darkness falls over Marvel once again as Daredevil returns alongside Jessica Jones to face a more dangerous Kingpin than ever, blending crime, thriller, and superhero drama on Disney+. Daredevil is back, and he didn’t come alone: he’s brought his most important Netflix ally with him to Disney+.

The guardian devil of Hell’s Kitchen steps back onto our screens, and he’s dealing with more trouble than ever before. Daredevil: Born Again season 2 premieres on March 24 on Disney+, and the first trailer makes it clear this is anything but a typical superhero series. The new season skillfully fuses superhero action with urban crime and raw thriller elements, creating a dark, grounded tone reminiscent of the strongest moments from the original Netflix run. Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) now faces a New York City that has openly declared war on masked vigilantes.

Jessica Jones Returns and Changes the Balance of Power

The biggest surprise of this second season is undoubtedly the return of Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), who reenters the Marvel Cinematic Universe to join forces with Daredevil as he attempts to build a resistance against the police state tightening its grip on the city’s streets. Jessica’s blunt, sarcastic personality and superhuman strength serve as the perfect counterweight to Matt’s rigid moral code. Her presence isn’t just a nostalgic nod to Netflix fans, but a major narrative boost that introduces new layers of conflict and strategy: together, they must coordinate the resistance against Kingpin, who is now more powerful and dangerous than ever.

Born Again continues to embrace a mature tone, where violence, redemption, and resistance are tightly intertwined.

Vincent D’Onofrio reprises his iconic role as Wilson Fisk, this time serving as the mayor of New York City. Armed with political power and institutional legitimacy, Fisk no longer hunts vigilantes only from the shadows but also organizes his own anti-vigilante police force, partly inspired by The Punisher’s methods, to neutralize anyone who stands in his way. This turns the city into a grim urban chessboard where the law itself becomes a weapon and heroes are forced to operate from the shadows.

The series picks up directly after the events of season 1, exploring the aftermath of the confrontation with Bullseye, the return of Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll), and the lingering tensions carried over from the previous season. It also introduces a new character played by Matthew Lillard, a mysterious figure some fans speculate could be Maserati Miedo, promising unexpected twists in the story. Born Again continues its mature narrative approach, where violence, redemption, and resilience combine to offer a complex and compelling portrait of Matt Murdock as both a man and a vigilante.

With a tone that is more political, darker, and emotionally heavier than many recent MCU projects, Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 arrives ready to redefine what it means to be a hero in New York. Starting March 24, Disney+ subscribers can watch Matt and Jessica join forces to face the greatest challenge of their lives: survival.
