The Version That Truly Shows Its Power: Resident Evil Requiem Unleashed On PS5 Pro

Resident Evil: Requiem will not only run “well” on PlayStation, but Leon and Grace’s journey will look spectacular on PS5 Pro. Capcom has confirmed that the new Resident Evil will fully exploit PS5 Pro technology in terms of both resolution and frame rate.

There is exactly one month left before Resident Evil 9: Requiem hits the market. Capcom has already stirred excitement among fans with juicy details, confirmation that Leon S. Kennedy plays a role in the adventure, and chilling demo showcases. The promotional push, however, is still ongoing, and the Japanese developer now wants to draw attention to the muscle of the PS5 Pro, not just as the platform for its most ambitious title yet, but as a way to push image clarity and performance to a higher tier.

This was made clear by Akishi Nakanishi, director of Resident Evil 9: Requiem, in an interview published on the official PlayStation Blog in Japan. While discussing how the game performs on PS5 Pro, he explained that players can expect a 4K experience at 60 FPS with full ray tracing enabled. When using a display that supports high refresh rates, performance can scale up to 120 FPS, hovering around an average of roughly 90 FPS.

“For me, the most impressive aspect of the PS5 Pro is the high frame rate,” Nakanishi comments. “You might think the difference isn’t that obvious, but once you’ve experienced it, even going back to 60 FPS no longer feels quite sufficient.” As for PlayStation-specific features, the director highlights the DualSense controller’s haptic feedback, capable of conveying the sensation of being bitten, along with the adaptive triggers, whose resistance will be noticeable while firing weapons.

The Spanish version of the official PlayStation Blog does not go into detail about Resident Evil 9: Requiem on PS5 Pro from a technical standpoint, but it does emphasize Leon S. Kennedy and the arsenal he will wield during the game. Players will encounter an older Leon, yet the character maintains the energy and charisma needed to take down infected enemies using his reliable Alligator Snapper pistol, the MSGB 500 shotgun, or the new Requiem revolver; weapons whose stats allow players to evaluate their combat effectiveness.

Of course, Resident Evil 9: Requiem takes strong inspiration from Resident Evil 4, not only regarding Leon’s fighting style but also in how inventory is handled. Yes, players will once again need to carefully arrange weapons, tools, and extra items to make optimal use of every slot in their backpack; a familiar system within the franchise whose comeback has thrilled a large portion of the fanbase. As a final note, Resident Evil 9: Requiem is set to launch on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2 on February 27, 2026.
