Arc Raiders: Embark Studios’ Popular Game Has Been Hit by a DDoS Attack!

In fact, the studio’s previous game was also affected by these attacks. If the two titles continue to be difficult to play, it’s because of these attacks.

If you’re having trouble playing Embark Studios‘ popular multiplayer games, Arc Raiders and The Finals, know that you’re not alone. The studio confirmed via the official Arc Raiders Discord server that both games are subject to extensive, coordinated DDoS attacks. The attack team is working hard to mitigate and resolve the issue and has made good progress. The community manager added that the servers are recovering and thanked us for our patience. They asked us to let them know if we encounter any further issues. However, it is unclear if Embark Studios has completely resolved the issue, so problems may still occur when trying to log into either game.

Embark Studios has only addressed the issue on the Arc Raiders Discord server. The absence of posts about the issue on other social media channels suggests that Embark Studios considers the problem resolved and does not deem it necessary to inform players outside the Arc Raiders Discord server. To see further signs that the situation is improving, we can look at the number of concurrent Arc Raiders players on SteamDB. Although it fell to its lowest level since the game’s release, it has since risen again and returned to normal activity.

Even at its lowest point since release, Arc Raiders still exceeded 100,000 concurrent players, proving that a DDoS attack cannot push the popular extraction shooter below six figures. Since its release last fall, we have reported on its success in terms of sales and concurrent players. In any case, someone or some people did not like the fact that there was such high demand for live service games.
