Tom Hiddleston Reveals What’s Next for The Night Manager After That Brutal Wait

MOVIE NEWS – The Night Manager is about to clock in again as Tom Hiddleston clears up the future of his celebrated anti-Bond spy thriller. After an agonizing ten-year gap, Season 2 is finally on the air, pulling Jonathan Pine back into the field when a shady figure from his past resurfaces.

During a recent appearance on This Morning, Hiddleston confirmed that The Night Manager will return for a third season, meaning the upcoming Season 2 finale, which is due to debut on February 1, 2026, will not be the last we see of Mr. Pine. Not only that, the MCU star also revealed that The Night Manager Season 3 will be a direct continuation of Season 2, with the arc taking place over 12 episodes.

“I can confirm that there will be a third season. We always constructed this one at the beginning of a twelve-episode story. It gave us greater scope, in terms of imagining where the story might go, knowing that we had another story come.”

Will We Be Waiting Another Decade for The Night Manager Season 3?

The Night Manager Season 2 taking a decade to emerge really tested the patience of fans. And while there were some pretty understandable reasons behind the wait (it’s based on an original idea rather than a John le Carré novel like the first outing), Tom Hiddleston assured us that The Night Manager Season 3 won’t leave audiences on the edge of their seats for anywhere near as long. Asked if we’ll have to wait another 10 years, the actor replied…

“No, it’ll be sooner than that! If we had to wait another ten years I’ll be 55, and I don’t know how much running onto motorbikes I’d be able to do. But we’ll see.”

Based on the 1993 novel by John le Carré, the first season of The Night Manager introduced audiences to Hiddleston’s Jonathan Pine, the night manager of a luxury hotel in Cairo and former British soldier who is recruited by MI6 to infiltrate the inner circle of dangerous arms dealer Richard Roper. Season 2 goes off-book, with Pine once again thrown into the fray as he leaves his now-comfortable life, leading to a violent encounter with a new player: Colombian businessman Teddy Dos Santos (Diego Calva). Once in Colombia, Pine is plunged deep into a deadly plot involving arms and training of a guerrilla army. As allegiances splinter, Pine races to expose a conspiracy designed to destabilise a nation. And with betrayal at every turn, he must decide whose trust he needs to earn and how far he’s willing to go before it’s too late.

Much like its predecessor, The Night Manager Season 2 has been met with critical acclaim and now holds a “Certified Fresh” score of 89% on Rotten Tomatoes. While Hiddleston has long been a favorite for James Bond himself, The Night Manager instead gives him the chance to be the anti-Bond, a man capable of the same action-packed escapades while offering something far more vulnerable and human than the iconic super spy. Clearly, Hiddleston is more than ready to challenge Bond for the title of best British action hero.
