No Man’s Sky: Sean Murray Continues His March with the Remnant Update [VIDEO]

Hello GamesNo Man’s Sky received another free update, further disappointing Todd Howard and Starfield.

Hello Games recently released Remnant, a free update for No Man’s Sky. Version 6.2 introduced gravity manipulation mechanics, extensive vehicle customization, and industrial waste processing facilities. The most significant new feature in Remnant is undoubtedly the Gravitino Coil, a Multi-Tool upgrade that changes how players interact with the game world. This tool allows players to magnetize, transport, and launch objects, creating new gameplay possibilities by manipulating physics.

Players can now grab and throw various objects, including golden artifacts found in planetary ruins, scattered across planets. However, the developers believe the tool’s most creative use is in combat. It allows players to capture and throw Sentinel drones, effectively turning enemies against each other. Additionally, combat equipment dropped by defeated enemies can be used immediately, and the Gravitino Coil interacts with Sphere Creator objects that players place in their bases.

The update introduces extensive customization options for the Colossus off-road vehicle. Players can equip their vehicles with unique modules and technologies, including super-elastic wheels, caterpillar tracks, and special off-road equipment that can handle any terrain. Visual customization options have also expanded to include new paint finishes that can be applied in addition to the traditional color palette. The most striking new feature, however, is Mechanical Legs: spider-like legs that enable hydraulic climbing. Players can obtain these by completing the new Remnant expedition, which offers an off-road transport experience in which players can sign up for waste transport missions.

New industrial facilities have appeared in the Waste Worlds, offering players the opportunity to collect waste and earn rewards. The system involves collecting radioactive crates, explosive containers, and toxic barrels, which must be handled carefully due to their dangerous nature. Special processing units allow for the safe storage and disposal of these hazardous materials, turning environmental cleanup into a potentially lucrative venture. In addition to gameplay enhancements, cloud-based rendering has undergone significant technical improvements, including better lighting, edge stability, and performance optimization. These changes are particularly noticeable during dawn and dusk.

No Man’s Sky will be 10 years old this year. Hello Games has released major updates every two to three months since its release. For free. Starfield is unable to match this.
